The Challenge

We were hired to develop a comprehensive marketing plan to help expand the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra's audience base. While current attendance is largely made up of individuals 55 and older, our strategy focuses on engaging younger and more diverse community members through targeted outreach, contemporary messaging, and broadened visibility.

The goal was to strengthen long-term audience growth while preserving the orchestra's loyal supporters.

Our Solution

We delivered a comprehensive 26-page marketing report outlining key strategies to expand audience reach and strengthen community engagement.

The plan included recommendations to refresh and optimize the website; develop a targeted PR and media outreach strategy; design new digital and print promotional materials; expand and refine email marketing; and implement a coordinated social media strategy. We also proposed creating video content, including concert footage and interviews, to capture and share the stories behind the music.

Additional initiatives included developing "A Night on the Town" partnership packages with local hotels and restaurants, engaging with local non-profits, strengthening relationships with educational institutions, and involving the Board of Directors and Symphony Guild more actively in marketing and advocacy efforts.

Our signature initiative, "A Night on the Town," partnered with The McKey, a distinguished local boutique hotel, and their acclaimed restaurant, Oak and Olive, to create a complete cultural experience. This exclusive package seamlessly combines Symphony tickets with fine dining, craft cocktails, and luxury accommodations, transforming a concert evening into a memorable destination event that encourages attendance from both local patrons and regional visitors.
